5 INGREDIENT MONKEY BREAD

Prep time: 10 min.
Cook time: 15 min.

Makes A BIG POT, perfect for sharing with 6-8 people.

You guys!!! Thanks to my Sis and her Christmas Day traditions, we landed on another five ingredient all star recipe.

And this one is a crowd pleaser for all ages!

It’s so simple to make, that I often fluff it up to create a little more pizazz when it comes out of the oven.

let’s make it!

INGREDIENTS

• 1 cup Granulated Sugar

• 2-3 tsp. Cinnamon

• 3 cans Pillsbury Grands! Biscuits (press-with-a-spoon-to-pop style)

• 1 stick Butter

• 1/2 cup Brown Sugar

TOOLS

• Gallon sized Ziploc bag

Bundt pan if you have one. If not, a loaf pan works.

• Oven, or toaster oven. This is the toaster oven we use!

how to:

Step 1: In a gallon sized ziploc bag, mix together 1 cup sugar and 2-3 tsp of cinnamon. That’s your base flavor!

Step 2: Cut up 3 cans of dough (non-flaky biscuits preferred) into triangles. I like to cut each piece into 4-6 smaller pieces varying the shapes for your audience.

Step 3: Toss the cut pieces into the ziploc and mix it up. Do this in stages so each piece is coated with the cinnamon sugar mix. Shake well, then place the coated pieces into a bundt pan.

NOTE: I’ve used regular bread pans, glass dishes and mini silicone bundts so use anything you have, the bundt pan helps the outside get a little more textured, while keeping the inside soft and warm. But TBH, it all tastes great when it’s hot and fresh out of the oven!

Step 4: Melt 1 stick of butter over the stove or in the microwave, then add in 1/2 cup of brown sugar until melted together. Mix it up and pour this gooey mixture all over the monkey bread. This acts as the (very delicious) glue that will hold everything together so be generous!

Step 5: Bake at 350 degrees for 25-30 minutes.

WARNING: When it’s ready, the smell will be so overwhelmingly amazing – whether you make it for breakfast or dessert, all the monkeys will come into the kitchen! But let it cool for 10 minutes so everything is set when you’re ready to serve.

wanna kick it up?

• Sprinkle the top with powdered sugar and add sliced bananas to each service.

• Sprinkle the top with powdered sugar, glaze with vanilla sauce and add a scoop of vanilla bean ice cream.

• Glaze with vanilla sauce and add a light layer of nuts.
