Fluff & Finesse: How much it cost to Eden-fy a house in Japan

Now…. How did I make this house a home you ask? Oh Eden-fying things is my favorite past time. 🤭

Here’s my five go to’s whenever I “fluff and finesse” a space. These are my five steps when I decorated the Vegas house, all boutiques, the Eden House on Waialae and yup, now the Atsumaru House. 🏠

Get a house, but make it cute! How about get a house, but make it cute on a budget? 🙂‍↔️ Yup, I like that. Tomorrow we’ll go over the real real. HOW MUCH IT ALL COST. 🙂‍↕️

🖼️ WALL ART

I live for a good blank space! I’m a frame collector remember? Blank wall spaces are perfect canvases for wall art, framed decor, floating shelves, mirrors, plants and oversized trinkets. For me? It’s all of the above, together. 🫠 Alyssa designed custom wall art for our statement wall and Olivia and I scoured Target, TJ Maxx, Marshall’s and Ross for other art pieces. Frames are from dollar stores all over plus the big scalloped one was hand carried from a Vegas Home Goods store!

TOTAL SPEND ON WALL ART: $175

🪴 PLANTS

Plants are everything to me. ✨ They just add so much charm to a space. These plants, vases and macrame hangers are from Ikea Japan, Three Coins and Daiso. My favorite is the ginko tree from Ikea. Gorgeous! He made the living room come alive.

TOTAL SPEND ON PLANTS: $225

🧲 HOOKS

I try to add hooks everywhere I go to keep things uncluttered and off the floor. In Japan, I loaded up on hooks AND magnets cause everything is “magnettable” in Japan. Seria even had magnet hooks! 🤯

TOTAL SPEND ON HOOKS: $20

🪞MIRRORS/FLOATING SHELVES

Mirror and floating shelves are my 1-2 punch. 🥊 I like to drop a mirror in every room and couple it with floating shelves. The look is clean and simple yet equally as functional. I imagine my guests being able to use the shelves for their hot tools and makeup when getting ready. Remember Japan houses have one shared bathroom! 😮

💖 FOCAL POINTS

From philanthropy walls in our boutiques to French style shower doors at The Eden House, I’m totally into the wow factor. 💯 That’s why I decided to glow up the genkan with a gold scalloped mirror and double sconce entrance. It’s dramatic and WOW! ⚡️⚡️⚡️ And get this, the sconces are LED puck lights so no wiring needed and they’re from…. AMAZON!

TOTAL SPEND ON MIRROR AND SCONCES: $110

The final step was adding in comfort items from home. The dog figurine from our showroom, the gold leaves from my zoom wall and throw pillows from the Vegas house all gave this space a cozy, “i-know-you” vibe. 🫠
