For the last 5 years (since Char started school!) we have become major holiday goodie bag gifters. Prior to that? We’d put out a tray of candy on Halloween and hope that kids make their own nutritional decisions. But now… we’re fully committed to creating fa-BOO-lous goodie bags for every occasion and Halloween? It’s our absolute favorite.
Here’s three non-candy treats that’ll make parents as happy as the kids:

SIP OR TREAT??
A cup? Yes… a cup! We started stuffing these stadium cups a few years ago as the ‘base’ and main entree to all of our goodie bags and there was no turning back. They’ve become major collectibles and make for the easiest Halloween goodie.
Inside? We’ve done candy (of course) but we’ve also fit a box of cute Daiso band-aids for BOO-BOOs (similar on Amazon here), pop its like these and ‘mochi squishies’ like these. For older kids, we’ve also done mini packs of bricks like this and Squishmallow surprises. And yes, they ALL fit in the cup!
“Save yourself some time and effort and just head to Daiso for self-sealing (gusseted) clear bags and STOCK UP. During my first rodeo I went straight for these ‘treat’ bags and spent an hour cutting, tying and curling ribbon!”

(WITCH) CRAFTY BOO!
Sugar crashes are seriously SPOOKY so we love us a good time-consuming, independence building craft kit over sugar any day. We’ve found that kids enjoy the engaging activities a fun alternative to sucking on lollipops and while air dry clay kits are on trend (link here!) we also found some really great activities for kids of all ages at Daiso.
Gem by number, scratch art, wool felt kits (great for older kids!) and the classic stick and peel crafts are all good options for Halloween treats that don’t involve sweets.
“Charlise has loved to do crafts since she was a baby. Our go to kits are from Mondo Llama (Target here) but we’ve also found great alternatives online. The best for gift giving are the individually wrapped ones like this – be sure to look for that as you purchase so you won’t have to put it together on your own.”
