We took our annual team trip to HOKKAIDO for Christmas/New Years and it was a first for us all!
But as I was packing (one week before we left) I was shocked to see – brrrrrrrr, my weather app showed that it was a high of 20 degrees! I began panic packing. I threw all my jeans, scarves, gloves, long sleeved tops, sweaters, pants that passed my ankles (one pair, I’m obsessed with a good cropped length pant!) into a huge pile.
What do people wear and NEED for 20 degree weather?
from one snow bunny to another,
here’s the top 3 things we found to make your winter travels toasty (and cute!)
MAGIC LEGGINGS
While panic packing, I decided to take a quick IG-scroll break and that’s when the IG-universe spoke to me. An ad about a girl who lives in freezing temperatures rocking skirts and dresses all winter long. HOW CAN?!
Her secret? These sherpa lined leggings that look like skin from the exterior, but are thick ‘n cozy on the inside. I was sold!
I giggled to myself knowing these “see through” stockings would fool everyone and texted Liv & Alys “wait, these aren’t my legs?!” And these magic leggings? They did not disappoint. I was warm even on the snowiest days.
I went with the thick 24og, size medium. They stretch out and are super high waisted for all around support.
FUZZY EARMUFFS.
OK, let’s be honest… not a beanie person?? SAME. So while I wanted to keep my ears cozy, I didn’t want to ruin my braid. Braid or beanie – BRAID right?!
While walking through Sapporo Station, these fuzzy earmuffs (with pearls?!) caught my eye. They’re the perfect winter addition to make sure you’re snuggled but stylish in the snow.
Plus! These earmuffs don’t leave your hair frizzy or static-y, which let’s admit, sucks snowballs.
Here’s an option we spotted on Amazon too!
RECHARGABLE HAND WARMERS
OK, this one puts the ICE-ing on the cake.
We initially got these rechargeable hand warmers just for the guys for Christmas but half way through the trip, we were all taking turns holding these little egg shaped handwarmers.
The patches from Daiso and 7-11 were great but these rechargeable hand warmers? They were CLUTCH when it came to the cold. We’d plug in to our external battery packs on train rides, switch them on when we exited and kept them in our pockets while we walked.
Find these on Amazon here.
So if you’re heading to the snow this Winter, add these to your Amazon cart stat!
Bonus!
Peel off heat stickers for your back, feet, hands:
My secret? I stick them to the inside of my top to keep my back toasty.
Note: Stick on clothing, not skin!
Inner glove to hold the rechargeable/disposable heaters!
This was such a good 100 yen store find that holds my heaters smack dab in my hands. Hands free heaters!
Besides the cute inner gloves, these leg warmers kept me cozy.
Imagine this being a sock extension. It goes under your pants and socks as an extra layer of “skin.” They work!
